Alabama First Lady Patsy Riley

This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the camellia as Alabama's state flower. A dedication of this extraordinary milestone took place at the Alabama State Capitol on January 7, 2009. A marker has been placed on the Capitol grounds as a reminder of this special time in Alabama history.

Birthday Wish Fundraiser
The Birthday Wish fundraiser will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Wynfield Plantation at 5801 Vaughn Road next the Alabama Shakespeare Theatre. All proceeds fund the Alabama Birthday Wish which provides birthday gifts for Alabama's 6,000 foster children. Tickets are $25.00 for adults and no charge for children under 12 years of age.   About Artist Joseph Stone
The beautiful depiction of the Governor's Mansion featured in the top left corner of my home page was drawn by Alabama artist Joseph Stone. For 40 years Mr. Stone has been illustrating historical landmarks, most notably those in Alabama.
